Summer ski – Where skiing in summer in Italy

When the winter season end, it is still possible to ski again in very few places in Italy on glaciery on high altitude, mainly during the morning. Actually in the past was possibile to ski on severy glaciers during the whole year while today some of them are opened only until may or  in june like Ghiacciao Presena or Val Senales.

Stelvio Pass

It is the only Italian ski resort where you can ski only in summer, since the road taking to Passo da Bormio is closed in winter because of the snow. From Stelvio Pass, a cable car and a funifor take from 2700 to 3450 meters, in Punta degli Spiriti, where you will find many runs, about 20 Km, served by some ski lifts with slopes suitable to everyone and especially to beginners.

Cervinia

You can ski from July to September. Actually from Cervinia you can just take the gondola to Plateau Rosà, there are more than 20 Km of slopes and a maxi snow park: the runs arrive in the Swiss Zermatt, that offers the highest slopes in Europe, at 3900 m of altitude.

Ghiacciaio Presena

Not far from Stelvio, in Tonale Pass, the ski season of Ghiacciaio Presena never stops from October to June, it can be called spring skiing more than summer skiing, however the slope on Presena glacier has excellent slopes suitable also for slalom and giant slalom training.
