Val Senales

Val Senales is a wonderful South Tyrol resort where you can ski the whole year. The Gletscherbahn cable car starts from Maso Corto, at 2000 meters of altitude, and in six minutes arrives to 3200 m, on mount Grawand. The view, here, will leave you with no words, thanks to the high peaks and perennial glaciers. From there also starts the Schmugglerabfahrt, a very long slope that pass through the glacier, breath-taking walls and narrow gorges, and arrives to the village after 8 thrilling Km and 1200m of drop. Some chairlifts and platter lifts allows to cover small parts of slopes, while three chairlifts climb up to the opposite side. The most long and exciting is Teufelsegg chairlift, going from 2400m up to 3030m in seven minutes, sheltering skiers from wind and cold thanks to its Plexiglas vault. Lazaun chairlift is interesting, too: it serves a pair of exciting alpine skiing slopes and a toboggan slope. Val Senales is a quiet valley, and its slopes are absolutely not crowded. In this resort you can also try guided excursions with snowshoes, even to the ice cavern.
