Pinzolo

Pinzolo is a pretty resort in Alta Val Rendena, which lies at 785 m of altitude and is surrounded by Brenta Dolomites, Adamello and Presanella. From the village, a first gondola lift will take you to 2100 m of altitude, where you will find a medium large ski area, served by seven four-seat chairlifts. Beautiful black slopes will satisfy the more demanding skiers: the Tulot, the DoloMitica Star and Tour, and the Grual. Also the red slope Rododendro is thrilling. Pinzolo ski area is connected skis on to Folgarida-Marilleva and Madonna di Campiglio; this ski area offers 63 ski lifts and 150 Km of slopes, 70000 square meters in the snow park, and 40 Km of Nordic skiing runs. For cross-country skiing, in Pinzolo, at Prà Rodont, there is an excursion trail 4 Km long, and in Pinzolo-Carisolo-Giustino-Caderzone there is a ring long 15 Km, partly lightened; near Carisolo there is also an approved Fressanida trail long 5 Km, with signage, toilets, and waxing stop, 2 Km of which are lightened. Other options for cross-country skiing are: 10 Km in Cal d’Agola, 6 Km in Val Brenta, and 8 Km in Cascate di Vallesinella. Winter is the best time to admire the ice giants of Mandrone and Lobbie. Usually, in winter Val Genova – that because of its recessed position never gets sunlight – is totally covered in a shining white snow; you can cross it skiing, but you have to pay much attention, because of the high avalanche risk and the intense cold. The first waterfall you will find is Nardis Waterfall: with its 130 meters it became one of climbers’ favourites. The water comes directly from Presanella glacier. One hour of further walk, and you will admire the other big waterfall, Lares Waterfall.
