Chiesa Valmalenco is a nice, well-preserved village at the end of the homonymous valley. You can access the ski area of Alpe Palù with the wonderful Snow Eagle cable car (its cars have 160 places!), or from San Giuseppe, by a four-seat detachable grip chairlift. The ski lifts, recently renewed, serve 35Km of slopes suitable for all levels skiers, well prepared and equipped with snowmaking systems. Beginners can enjoy several panoramic blue slopes for alpine skiing, while among red slopes we recommend the run connecting Sasso Alto to San Giuseppe, long 6 kilometres. The ski lifts, recently renewed, serve 35Km of slopes suitable for all levels skiers, well prepared and equipped with snowmaking systems. Interesting black slopes are the Nana and the Thoeni, that is famous for its last steep wall. The Palù snow park is divided in lines with facilities that are suitable for different levels of riding, and there are about ten outdoors facilities like boxes, rails and walls ([email protected]). In Valmalenco there are trails and rings for cross-country skiing that will meet every kind of need. The natural trails near Palù Lake wind for 17 kilometres in a sunny basin at 2000m of altitude, while the ring in Lanzada is located in the centre of the village and is 7Km long; in it, you will find the Pradasc run (1.5Km) which is lightened at night till 10 p.m. (Bar Pradasc for equipment hire 347/4687105.) The San Giuseppe – Chiareggio ring, some kilometres away from Chiesa, offers 30Km of trails (Bar Isola for equipment hire 347/9606848.) Near Chiesa, Caspoggio offers beautiful slopes surrounded by the woods. Here, you can ski in a quiet and not crowded environment.
