At the end of Ayas Valley, if you climb up following Evançon creek, you will find Champoluc, the liveliest town in this area, which also is an international alpine station. From Champoluc – 1568 meters - you can take the gondola lift to the Crest ski area, or, a little further on, the funicular to Frachey-Alpe Ciarcerio facilities. There are a total of 12 red slopes and 3 blue slopes, going down in front of the end of Monte Rosa chain, with its Breithorn peeks, Castor and Pollux. Champoluc is part of Monterosa Ski, a wide resort counting 180 Km of slopes, 170 of which is supported by snowmaking systems. Modern skiing facilities connect Champoluc with Gressoney Valley through Colle della Bettaforca pass, at 2705 meters. A wide choice of slopes with different features allow the skiers to explore always-new paths and views. For kids, there are a natural slope for toboggans and bobsleighs near the amusement park, and a Baby Snow Park, with three moving sidewalks. Cross-country skiers will enjoy an easy slope 3 Km long, called Villy; or they can easily reach the neighboring town of Brusson, renowned for Nordic skiing. Wearing snowshoe you can walk along the ring Ferraro-Verra or the medium-long route Col Vascoccia-Monte Facciabella. Fifteen minutes away from Champoluc, at 1630 meters, you will find an amazing ice climbing spot at Pissun Di Mascognaz; another simple climbing spot is located at Le Bilance, in the northern Cuneaz valley, at about 2100 meters. From ski to mountain bike, Champoluc offers, in every season, a wide range of choice for your amusement and relax.
