Easy reachable from Roma-L’Aquila motorway, Campo Felice is one of the best skiing resort in the Apennines. Since it is located near big arteries, it is well frequented, especially during weekends. It lies in the middle of a big shell made by the borders of five mountains, all of them higher than 2000 meters and covered in snow from November to April. Campo Felice is one of the few skiing resorts of Central Italy allowing the connection between two mountain sides: Altopiano delle Rocche (Rocca di Cambio, Rocca di Mezzo, Ovindoli) and Campo Felice (Lucoli Tornimparte) are connected skis on. Here we find many ski lifts: 9 chairlifts (two detachable grip four-seat chairlifts, three fixed-grip four-seats chairlifts, and four two-seats chairlifts), two platter lift, one ski tow and two magic carpets; they are well-advanced and serve 20 slopes and two alternative routes for a total of about 30 Km. The slopes are various and suitable for every kind of skier. Among the black slopes, we recommend Delle Aquile slope (now not totally opened), going down from Monte Rotondo covering a drop of more than 600 metres. The other slopes are interesting and enjoyable, too, but they are a bit short. For kids, besides ski school areas, there is a snow tubing slope, while snowboarders and freestylers can go wild in a fully-equipped snow park.
