Via Lattea is the biggest ski area in Western Italy, with its 400 Km of slopes, 120 Km of which are covered by a snowmaking system. This area is really big (we recommend to keep an eye to your watch), going from Sauze d’Oulx to the French resort of Montgenèvre. There are different ski pass with different pricing: the most inexpensive is Monti della Luna ski pass, valid in Cesana and Claviere (25€). This area is really big (we recommend to keep an eye to your watch), going from Sauze d’Oulx to the French resort of Montgenèvre. There are different ski pass with different pricing: the most inexpensive is Monti della Luna ski pass, valid in Cesana and Claviere (25€). For Monti della Luna and Montgenèvre you have to pay 35, 50€. The Via Lattea ski pass covers five Italian resorts and Pragelato cable car (34€). The last one is the Via Lattea international ski pass, which covers the Italian resorts and Montgenèvre (44€). There are many ski lifts connecting the six resorts, from the lowest point, Cesana, at 1350 m, to the highest point, in Monte Motta, at 2800m, in Sestriere area. The slopes, surrounded by wide pine forests and high mountains, hosted many important events, such as the 2006 Olympic Games races for alpine skiing, freestyle, skeleton, Nordic skiing, bobsledding, toboggan, biathlon. Moreover, it regularly hosts the World Cup races.
