San Martino di Castrozza is a wonderful resort in Trentino, well-known for the beauty of its mountains, which includes Pale di San Martino. The most important ski areas are three: two located at the two sides of the village, and the third in Rolle Pass. The biggest ski area stretches from Alpe Tognola to Malga Ces, and offers 45 Km of alpine skiing slopes between 1404 and 2357 m. You can access the slopes thanks to the fast Tognola gondola lift, which in only eight minutes takes to Tognola peak, at 2200 m, starting a bit below San Martino di Castrozza. The second way to access the slopes is through Ces chairlift, at the edge of the village. There are several ski lifts: one gondola lift for eight and two detachable-grip four-seat chairlifts. We have to say that many ski lifts are quite old. The second ski area of San Martino di Castrozza is named Colverde, and is served by a gondola lift and a cable car. Two long slopes starts from the arrival of the first ski lift and go down to the village. The cable car isn’t used by skiers because it takes only to a panoramic spot, where you can have wonderful walks. The third ski area is 8 Km away from San Martino, in Rolle Pass. Here, you will find 15 Km of well covered slopes between 1900 and 2200 m, served by five chairlifts and a platter lift.
