In the north-east edge of Fiemme Valley, it lies the densely populated village of Predazzo, at the confluence of creek Travignolo – which comes down from Pale di San Martino – and river Avisio – which comes from Marmolada. There are other three areas (Alpe Cermis, Passo Rolle, Oclini) that you can enjoy with the same ski pass. Majestic mountains frame these ski areas: Cantinaccio, Sella Group, Marmolada, Latemar, Otztaler Alps, Civetta, … Within Predazzo municipality, in Stalimen, there is an open stadium for ski jumping, which offers six different jumps and a school jump, opened the whole year. It hosted three Nordic Skiing World Championships. You can enjoy cross-country skiing in the valley and on the legendary Marcialonga trail, going from Predazzo to Molina di Fiemme. Over Predazzo-Gardonè gondola lift, at 1650 m, there is “Il Regno dei draghi” [The Kingdom of Drangons] amusement park, totally renewed in 2010. There is also a kindergarten where you can leave your kids to be cared and amused. The Alpine Coaster really is thrilling: a breath-taking parabolic route on two-seat toboggans on a monorail, a one-kilometre downhill from 1650 m of altitude to Gardonè. In Predazzo you will find the prestigious Scuola Alpina [alpine school] of Guardia di Finanza, where soldiers for alpine rescues are trained; here you can also visit a museum showing memories and mementos of champions like Gustavo Thoeni, Cristian Zorzi, Kristian Ghedina, Polig, Vanzetta, who were in Sciatori Fiamme Gialle Group. If you prefer a different approach, you can visit Paneveggio Natural Park, 5 Km away, and caress deers inside their fence, or visit the officinal garden and the tourist centre.
