La Thuile is one of the most beautiful ski resorts in Aosta Valley and in Italy. Thanks to the international ski facility taking to the French resort of La Rosiére, it is part of Espace San Bernardo and can offer 160 Km of slopes with a single ski pass. There are modern ski lifts, especially on the Italian side, where you can find a cable car able to transport up to 3000 people per hour, 8 four-seat chair lifts, two of which are covered, 3 three-seat chair lifts, 5 platter lifts and 3 magic carpets, one of which is also covered. Snowfall is excellent, thanks to the altitude, the northern exposure of slopes, and the excellent snowmaking system. Water used for artificial snow production comes from an artificial basin recently built in Cerellaz area. Among alpine skiing slopes, we point out the one called Tre Franco Berthod: it is one of the most difficult in Italy, thanks to its 73% gradient of maximum slope. On Wednesdays, ski pass prices are very interesting. This ski resort shines for its spectacular location, with wonderful views on Rutor glacier and Mont Blanc Massif. Kids will find two amusement parks and two snow-tubing trails, served by magic carpets. For cross-country skiers La Thuile offers, besides a ski school area, 4 rings long 3 – 5 – 7.5 – 10 Km respectively. Tourists will find a lot more than ski, like heliski (348.3161723), or sleddog tour (335 1829414), or even Jacuzzi and relax in Pré-Saint-Disier thermal baths, and any kind of amusement offered by the neighboring towns of Pré-Saint-Didier, Morgex and Courmayeur.
