Foppolo is the main ski area in Val Brembana, and it is among the bests in Bergamo valleys. Since it is near the big towns, it is a handy spot for many winter sports lovers. Recently, they have invested in snow making systems and new ski lifts, making the connection with Carona more comfortable; in fact, the best point of this resort is that it allows skiing in both ski areas. Ski lifts are located in the border of the village and include four chair lifts, a platter lift, and a magic carpet, all of them serving 11Km of alpine skiing slopes. There are different runs: eight are red, in 7Km, four are blue and one is black. We recommend expert skiers to try the black slope, going down from mount Valgussera (2200m), with its wonderful views and breath-taking walls. You can avail of a ski pass that includes Carona and San Simone (where you can arrive by bus); the three resorts are part of Bremboski ski area, which offers 34Km for alpine skiing and 17 ski lifts. In the whole Val Brembana, you will find several routes for ski mountaineering, like Passo di Dordona, Giro del Monte Cadelle (2483m), Monte Toro (2524m), or Passo Valcervia (2318m). For cross-country skiing, Foppolo hosts a 3Km ring winding in the woods near Convento. The youngsters will enjoy themselves in the Iron Snow Park, at a high altitude, or in the Progression Park, in Quarta Baita area. For kids, a ski park recently opened, the Looney Tunes Baby Park.
