In 1963, Bruneck saw his first cable car. Since then, many things had changed. There are not cable cars anymore, but there are three gondola lifts starting from Riscone parking lots. Two of them arrives to 2275 m, in the heart of Kronplatz ski area, while the third is for kids and beginners.
Bruneck is with no doubt the ski resort hosting the more technical slopes in the whole Kronplatz ski area. The most famous are the Sylvester and the Hernegg, renowned for the difficulty and the gradient of their walls. The northern exposure of this area, together with an efficient snowmaking system, helps to maintain the snow on the slopes despite the low altitude. Kronplatz ski area includes, besides Bruneck, Olang, San Vigilio di Marebbe, San Martin de Tor, which are all reachable with your skis on. During Advent, in Bruneck you will find Christmas markets.
