Asiago is located on the homonymous plateau, near Vicenza. There are five ski resorts, in the towns of Conco, Enego, Gallio, Lusiana, and Roana (but alpine skiing slopes are not connected). In five minutes by car from the centre of Asiago, you will find Kaberlaba, the most comfortable ski area to reach from the plateau main town. In a five-minute trip by car from Gallio – and 15 minutes from Asiago –, there is Valbella ski area. Monte Verena 2000 Ski Area is the largest here. See the page Monte Verena – Asiago. In a 15 minutes trip by car you will reach Valmaron ski resort (Sciovie Val Maron - Enego 2000 0424/490085). This area is located in a wide sunny basin between 1360 and 1670 meters of altitude. On Stazio slope, you can ski in nighttime, too. There are 10 slopes for 14 Km: 9 Km of red slopes, and 5 Km of black slopes, with eight ski lifts. The real flagship of this area is Nordic skiing, which is perfect for the plateau natural features. This area, in fact, hosts many great events like Marciabianca – in the end of February, in Marcesina valley, in Granfondo circuit – and Millegrobbe, with peculiar international level games. Cross-country skiing lovers will find 500 Km of slopes among the seven towns, ideal to relax far away the usual city stress. On Altopiano di Asiago snows, many national champions spend their training time. In its wide plan area, Asiago offers many opportunities aside from skiing: snowshoes walks, winter horse-riding, ice-skating, sled dogging, swimming in covered swimming-pools, tennis games, golf challenges, guided tours to the Astronomic and Astrophysical  Observatory of Asiago or to the various museums. Moreover, the town is renowned for ice hockey.
