In Eisacktal, at 1300 meters, surrounded by wide grasslands and high mountains, lies the village of Valles. On the right of the village, there are the first platter lifts for children and beginners. The third, Schwandt platter lift, is connected to the eight-place gondola lift climbing up the left side of the mountain, taking alpine skiing lovers on the highest part of this ski area, where they will find two chairlifts and medium-level slopes. In winter, every Tuesday night, in Valles, it takes place the “vampires’ dance”, a night party at 2088m for alpine skiers, that can use the gondola lift until 11.30 p.m. In April, in Malga Fane, there is an alpine skiing race. Three to four year old Kids can play while learning to ski in “Kinderland”, while five to twelve years old kids have the “Yeti Club”.

Cross-country skiers will find a 8 Km long ring, suitable for children, too, or a medium-easy trail 15 Km long in Rodengo Alpine hut, away from the noise of ski lifts. If you want to enjoy your toboggan, you will find interesting runs, like the “Jochtal”, a medium level slope, going down from Anratterhutte shelter to Spinga for 6 Km. In Malga Fane there are a 3 Km slope with a drop of 300m and a renting point in Kurzkofel shelter. On Wednesdays evening, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., a part of the slope is lightened. Near the Schilling slope, there is a kid slope, 200m long.

Valles Jochtal skiing area is connected with the neighbouring Gitschberg Maranza by a gondola lift forming a single, wide skiing area with 44 Km of slopes and 20 ski lifts.

In Eisacktal, besides Gitschberg-Jochtal, there are Plose-Bressanone, Monte Cavallo-Vipiteno, Racines-Giovo, Ladurns-Colle Isarco skiing areas.
