Chamois
On a wonderful plateau, at 1815 meters, in front of Matterhorn, here lays Chamois. It’s a typical alpine town, quiet and unpolluted, since there are no cars; you can arrive there taking the cable car – it takes 5 minutes from Buisson, near Antey Saint André, in the thalweg – or by plane. A fairly sheltered mountain airfield can harbor small planes ( 016647171- 3286074234). You can also follow a mule track to arrive there, covering 93 curves and a gap of 700 meters of altitude. Alpine skiing slopes cover a length of 14 Km, and 12 of them benefit of snowmaking systems; they are served by three chairlifts, which take skiers up to Colle Fontana Freida, at 2475 m. You will find interesting the off piste slope towards Cheneil basin. We recommend the ski mountaineering hike taking from Colle di Falinère to Valtournenche. The scenic, plane path taking to La Magdeleine offers an easy 5.5 Km slope for cross-country skiing. Furthermore, the snow park provides two nursery slopes equipped with two moving sidewalks (one of them also has inflatables).
